Dan Boissy is a professional saxophonist and owner of Vegin’ Out a vegan meal delivery service located in Los Angeles, CA. He has been playing professionally for 10 years and has traveled extensively performing all over the U.S, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Europe. When he first moved to L.A 8 years ago at the age of 22 to be a member of the Coconut Club Orchestra at Merv Griffen’s Coconut Club, he needed a way to supplement his income so he started Vegin’ Out with his brother Tim Boissy who had extensive experience in the natural foods industry. The business started out as a way to make a few extra bucks, but as time went on the Boissy brothers realized that their little business had big potential. About 3 years ago Dan got serious about taking Vegin’ Out to the next level. With Tim as the Chef, and Dan as the business side the company has more then quadrupled their sales since 2005. This blog is about Dan’s quest to turn Vegin’ Out into a million dollar company while keeping his “Day Job” as a working musician. However, it doesn’t stop there. Dan and Tim’s parent company is Boissy Natural Enterprises LLC. They plan to build a thriving portfolio of natural, and environmentally friendly companies. Read, and see what happens.
Hi Dan:
I found your blog this morning while surfing the web and after reading the Business Week article on artists making a living. Your quest sounds great and I loved your book list. Good luck with all that you are doing. Thank you for your words. As an artist that holds down a full time job and has a family it is hard and you are right, much of this I did not learn in art school. I will keep an eye on your blog. Thanks
S
